The cable car alone: return or one way
The return ticket costs €15.50, a single €12.00. At €3.50 the gap is small – so if you stay up top and walk or take the bus back, you save very little. Children are 7 up to and including 17; below that they travel free.

Concessions apply to pensioners with proof, people with a severe disability pass – where it is marked B, the companion travels free – and recipients of basic state support. For children's and school groups, one accompanying adult per ten children goes free.
Combi ticket: cable car plus Ehrenbreitstein Fortress
The fortress costs €10.00 on its own while the museums and exhibitions are open, daily from 10:00 to 18:00. The combi ticket bundles the return ride with entry.

Rule of thumb: The combi ticket always pays off if you actually go inside the fortress – but only then. For the outdoor grounds after 18:00 you do not need it.
Honestly: The same combi ticket also exists with the fortress lift instead of the cable car – €11.00 rather than €21.90. If you do not mind how you get up and it is the fortress you are after, that is half the price. All four ways are compared on Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.
Family cards: the biggest lever
The family cards cover one or two adults with up to four children. The more children travel, the clearer the difference.

Two adults with two children pay €61.60 in individual combi tickets and €48.50 with the family card – €13.10 less. With four children the individual tickets would come to €79.40; the family card still costs €48.50, a difference of €30.90.
Honestly: The family cards are not in the online shop. The operator explains that they contain zero-price tickets for children. So you have to go to the ticket desk – and it is only staffed during operating hours. Anyone arriving with children and booking online in advance gives away exactly the fare that was made for them.

Honestly: The 2-day ticket costs €28.90 – two separate day tickets cost €31.00. For €2.10 you have to come back a second time. That only works if you are in Koblenz for two days anyway. The 3-day ticket is clearer at €38.00 against €46.50, and on paper the monthly pass pays off from the fourth ride – which in practice means locals only.
What we cannot put a figure on
- The Erlebnis-Ticket Koblenz bundles the cable car, the fortress and a boat trip. The operator publishes no price for it online and says it is sold on site only.
- Special entry prices during major events. On the day we checked, the operator's price page still listed dates from 2025. If you are coming on an event weekend, ask beforehand.
- Group rates above a certain number of people are on a separate operator page – the tiers change, so they are not reproduced here.

Honestly: At the ticket desk the same return ride is €15.50, so compare before you book – the figure shown here varies with the country and currency you browse from. With children the family card at the desk is cheaper in every case, and it is not sold here. The operator also runs its own online shop.
